The Six Kalimas in Islam

Fundamental declarations of Islamic faith. Muslims recite these Kalimas to affirm and strengthen their connection to Allah.

1. First Kalima (Tayyabah or Shahada)

Translation: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, the One, without any partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger."

2. Second Kalima (Tamjeed)

Translation: "Glory be to Allah, all praise is due to Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. There is no power nor strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Almighty."

3. Third Kalima (Tawheed)

Translation: "Glory be to Allah, all praise is due to Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. There is no power nor strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Almighty. There is no god but Allah alone, without any partner. To Him belongs sovereignty, and to Him belongs all praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is the Ever-Living, who never dies. In His hand is all goodness, and He has power over all things."

4. Fourth Kalima (Tauhid-e-Ibadat)

Translation: "There is no god but Allah alone, without any partner. To Him belongs sovereignty, and to Him belongs all praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is the Ever-Living, who never dies. In His hand is all goodness, and He has power over all things."

5. Fifth Kalima (Astaghfar)

Translation: "I seek forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, for all the sins I have committed intentionally or unintentionally, openly or secretly, and I turn to Him in repentance from the sins I am aware of and from the sins I am not aware of. Surely, You are the Knower of the unseen."

6. Sixth Kalima (Radd-e-Kufr)

Translation: "O Allah! I seek refuge in You from associating anything with You knowingly, and I ask Your forgiveness for that which I do not know."
