Hifz Programme: How We Help Students Memorise the Entire Quran

Becoming a Hafiz or Hafiza is a noble ambition that requires structured guidance, relentless consistency, and immense barakah from Allah. At IQRA Madris-Al-Qur'an, our Hifz programme is not merely about rote memorisation—it is about embedding the Quran into the heart and daily life.

The Three Pillars of Our Hifz Programme

  1. Daily Memorisation (Hifz)
  2. Students memorise new verses under the close supervision of their tutor. The teacher listens to each new portion, corrects pronunciation immediately, and ensures the student can recite it independently before moving forward. Typical daily targets range from half a page to one page, adjusted to the student's capacity.
  1. Daily Revision (Muraja'ah)
  2. Memorisation without revision is like building a sandcastle at high tide. Every lesson includes dedicated time to revise previously memorised portions. Our teachers follow the classical method of connecting new memorisation to old revision in a continuous loop.
  1. Monthly Evaluation
  2. At the end of each month, a comprehensive review session tests retention across all memorised Juz. This identifies weak spots early and prevents the common problem of 'forgetting the beginning while memorising the end.'

Who Can Join?

We accept Hifz students from approximately age eight onwards, though we evaluate each child individually. Mature students who can sit with focus for thirty to forty-five minutes tend to progress best. Adult learners are equally welcome—several of our current Hifz students are parents memorising alongside their children.

Time Commitment

Hifz requires daily dedication. Lessons run Monday to Friday, with weekends reserved for family revision. Most students complete the entire Quran in three to five years depending on starting age, natural ability, and consistency.

Parental Role

Parents are partners in this journey. We provide clear weekly progress reports and suggest home revision techniques. A parent who listens to ten minutes of revision each evening dramatically accelerates retention.

The Ultimate Reward The Prophet (PBUH) promised that a Hafiz will be told on the Day of Judgement: 'Recite and ascend. Recite as you used to recite in the world, for your rank is at the last verse you recite.' (Abu Dawood). Every difficult hour of memorisation becomes a step toward that luminous station.

If you or your child feel called to this path, begin with a free trial. We will honestly assess readiness and design a roadmap that respects both ambition and realistic pace.
